OUR MISSION

The Macedonia Baptist Church mission is to Encourage the Sinner, Edify the Saints, and Exalt the Savior.

Our History

Macedonia Baptist Church was founded in the year of 1874. This occurred nine years after President Lincoln signed into law the Emancipation Proclamation freeing all slaves. It was seven years after the rarefaction of the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution abolishing slavery in America.

Macedonia was located in an area of Clarke County known as Whitehall. Macedonia held it services there for more than forty years before it was destroyed by fire. The late Walter B. Thomas who was the Pastor during this time, and with the consent of the membership purchased the land located at 287 E.

Carver Drive in which to build a new church.

After a long wait their dream became a reality in June of 1961 when the doors of the new church were

open for worship service. After the passing of Pastor Thomas there was a number of other ministers

who pastored Macedonia. In 1983 Macedonia found it needed another Pastor, after a search for a new

Pastor, God sent a young man by the name of Willie Ralph Flint to be their new Pastor. Pastor Flint made

his Pastoral debut in January 1984 and served as Pastor until retirement in December 2020.

On June 27, 2021 Torrance D. Thomas installation service was held installing him as the new Pastor of

the Macedonia Baptist Church. God has blessed Macedonia over the last One Hundred Fifty Years as we

as a church go forward in service in the name of Jesus Christ.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
